going to be incommunicado until friday evening when i return to bartnet.
two girls dance punched me in the nose last night. thanks to my pill popping it didnt really hurt, but you'd think that it would have thinned my blood enough that i would have bled like crazy, but no blood was spilt.
hurray for dinner parties etc. free wine! i sat at the adult table too. |

so after a wonderful stress free weekend...i've come back to this:
mrs. chidsey's mother in law is dying...and so she's leaving for good (only a month early)
but
our journal for marketing which is supposed to be due in 2 weeks is now due wednesday! WOAH WOAH WOAH. Don't expect it to be good, I've taken 2 pictures for it so far (supposed to have WAY MORE) And the quality of writing about the stores i'm supposed to cover will be pure shit.

roberto (the skanky two timing italian teacher) ACTUALLY TAUGHT TODAY! again with the triple woahs! but he didn't do a good job of it, but you've got to give him credit for trying. again i'm happy that my french teacher was so good and i can apply the rules from French to Italian.
i just had some great gelato (frutti di bosco/limone) and now I must start my italian homework.
oh and i printed two tank tops and a bag in screen printing tonight. success!

i finished the body of my sweater last night too! yes! more blogging on that to come, and becky's slippers are done and just need buttons. (habbadasher closed this morning boo. ) i'll post pics of them when they are done as well.

Yesterday was spent traveling to the Cinque Terre. We got on a train that ended up taking way too long, but we were rewarded after much travels with a beautiful sight. This is a must see place in Italy. After meeting this guy named Randall (60 years old, entymologist, lives in china) we hikked from Vernazza to Corniglia. This hike took us up way high, took my breath away (literally) and made us sweaty as hell. It was beautiful though and I was in good company. Carolyn and Jenna. I was so tired I came home and went to bed!
This morning Jenna and I woke up early and were on the 8:39 train to Venice. It was a nice ride, but it was hard to knit because the girl next to me seemed to be sitting so close. I did get some done though. In venice we took the water bus to San Marco, where we saw the duomo, climbed the bell tower, toured the palazzo ducale, ate a nice dinner of pizza and beer shopped in some touristy shops, bought some wine for papa govenor and headed back to Firenze SMN.
Tomorrow we are off to Pisa, Lucca and Vinci.
Big weekend of travel because next weekend is Berlin (for Rufus Wainwright and Sister concert), then the following weekend is Amsterdam.

I made this with yarn from the cashine market here in florence. It went very quickly and despite some problems with drunk knitting it was very easy. I haven't put any buttons on it yet, but it is very cute but a bit shorter than I would have liked. If I knit it again in the future I will add length to it. I believe when I knit something else from this book I will also add length to it. I also made a hat with the yarn because it is a huge cone of this great brown wool. I will probably make another sweater out of the wool and start a brown collection! Too funny.

It is going fairly quickly especially because I'm not putting much time into it. The yarn I got from Campolmi Filati, red heavy worsted wool little to no twist. Ugh that last part has got me into trouble! The yarn comes untwisted and altough it is nice for when I have to felt ends together, it presents itself a problem when I drop a strand or two of the yarn. It creates a centimetre long float on the purl side. While this isn't so much a problem because you won't really be able to see it and it doesn't unknit the entire column, it still bugs the hell out of me! I feel as if my gauge is too tight and that it will turn out to be too small and I can't give a flawed piece to someone as a gift. I may have to though. Or just put it into my collection of poorly made sweaters.

Fitz Patterns is an online pattern site for cool, hipster sewing patterns. There are patterns for free and also for purchase. The currency is AUD, but I belive that it all works out with the bank. They are fairly inexpensive and a very basic which would be a good starting ground for turning it into your own project.
